Ravnica Minatures Coming from WizKids

Book-Friend, he/him
So, we are getting a line of miniatures to go with the Ravnica D&D book, including Iconics for all ten guilds and a number of monsters.

"Timed to coincide with the release of the first official Dungeons & Dragons title to cover part of the Magic: The Gathering world (see “‘Dungeons & Dragons’ Officially Meets ‘Magic: The Gathering’”), the aptly-named D&D Icons of the Realms: Guildmasters’ Guide to Ravnica set will feature characters and creatures chronicled in the upcoming supplement book. In all, the set will include a total of 44 new figures, including the Deathpact Angel, the Gruul Anarch, the Boros Reckoner, and the Nightveil Specter, as well as the guildmasters of Ravnica themselves."

Probably the same way that Draconians and Half-Giants do, i.e. not at all.

In 4e Draconians we're just a type of Dragonborn and Half Giants I think we're Goliaths.

They are reskinning a bunch of D&D monsters to fit Ravnica, so I see not reason they can't do that in reverse, a suggested use for it on other D&D worlds.

The Deathpact Angel looked awesome, but I wonder how it will fit into regular D&D lore.
It won’t.

The Ravnica book is undoubtedly like the Superman vs. Spider-man comic where they just pretend everything is the same universe but don’t actually attempt to reconcile the lore.

"Reconciling the lore" seems to be something WotC views as a fool's errand for the Forgotten Realms or Sigil, forget about outside settings!

However, from what we know of the book so far, there will be no discussion of Mana or Colors, while Ravnica will be situated in a Crystal Sphere for Spelljamming purposes. So, some accommodation to D&D IP metaphysics is being attempted, and I would wager there is "How to use this material in the Forgotten Realms or your Homebrew," ala SCAG.

Don't know much about magic, but the Deathpact Angel sounds fun. I have been silently hoping for some dark celestial or righteous fiend monster, just to turn tables and craft an interesting story with.

My friend's kid (my mini-painting apprentice) will be psyched about these, depending on what figures/monsters they put out in the set. He's hardcore into Magic. Getting a chance to repaint some of them will be awesome for him.
