D&D 5E Chris Perkins drops 2020 hint!

An adventure updating/based on Desert of Desolation would be really great. Plus it would almost certainly update at least Mulhorand, which hasn't had any in-depth coverage since the Old Empires accessory - and that was published n 1990!

(It would also be nice to see how the whole Unther - Tymanther situation has sorted itself out, although that might be getting too far afield).

Another speculation thread! Cause I love em.

Like Curse of Strahd? How I wonder? Spooky creepy fun? Vampires? Otherworldly? Another Dread Domain?

Maybe a visit to other domain or area like I10 Ravenloft II Mordentshire which I personally love but know is not a fan favorite.
Or something related to Ravenloft authors like Dragonlance? It would be funny if this a Dragonlance hint.

Chris is such a tease.

Desert of Desolation would be great, as Pharoah is an amazing adventure. It's also a gateway into Al-Qadim, perhaps, or expanding the map of the Forgotten Realms.

That said, this tease gives me hope for Dragonlance. According to the Gamehole Con interview, the Eberron book is selling very well, so WotC must be looking at other classic settings. I imagine Dragonlance is at the top of the list. It's a good vehicle to introduce mass combat and other new rules. I imagine Guild Adepts and AL could provide some inspired adventure content.
Desert of Desolation is one of my all time favorites. I would love that.

For real, though, if Perkins is working on a book, it is a big adventure book for sure. So he could mean it is a similar structure to Strahd, or similar themes, or another conversion book...it will probably be clear in hindsight.

I hope it isn’t more Ravenlorft.

I hope it IS something that involves Planeswalking, and dark worlds like Innistrad and Shadowmoor.

a Van Richten monster book. Why? It’s that time as we’ve gotten one a year since Volo and they seem sorta themed. Volo was a more FR themed monster book, TOF is very planar kind of thing. I can definitely see a Van Richten’s Libris Mortis sort of thing just to change up the title and a focus on undead including Dhampyr PCs and other undead themes partnered with more general options like the other two.
