Modiphius’ upcoming Dune RPG will be overseen by Andy Peregrine (Doctor Who, Judge Dredd).

While he already has a team of writers for the initial release, their identities are being kept under wraps for the moment, as is most other information about the game (though it’s a good bet it will be powered by Modiphius’ 2d20 system).

This is exciting news. If they do end up using the 2d20 system, it will be interesting to see how they drift it for DUNE from Conan and Star Trek Adventures.

Hopefully one of the big changes will be better layout/format. While the 2d20 system intrigues and the books are beautiful the layout of mechanics leaves a lot to be desired. If I'm being blunt I'd rate it as terrible.

I was just going to post that. Seems like a natural fit for the whole wasteland exploration style game. 2d20 never struck me as being very good. Conan is awesome and all but I doubt I would run it with 2d20.
Bear in mind it's not wasteland exploration, Dune is politics, intrigue, social conflict, duels, investigation and so on. In this game you're the movers and shakers, not people exploring a wasteland (there's Fallout coming for that :)

Wow!!! Dune is like a phenomenal universe to which I got addicted much like the spice melange all those years ago, so much so, that even the prequel novels by the son of Frank Herbert are totally fine by me, the Machine Crusade, especially, of the early days of the thinking machines before their ban and the rise of the Mentats.

Fair point. But Coriolis: The Third Horizon has that and uses the Year Zero engine, and has that Firefly/Dune/Fading Suns vibe. And would it be fantastic fit for Dune.

I enjoy the 2d20 system and own... alot of them. Conan, Star Trek and John Carter. With John Carter leading the three as my favorite interpretation of the system.

So I'll hold my judgement until the book is in my greedy lil hands. Regardless of the system, I'm excited to see the franchise on the TTRPG horizon.

**can't proof worth a flip...

Thanks for remembering, Coriolis The Third Horizon.

I too thought that Coriolis was paying some sort of homage to the Dune novels and the Fading Suns RPG.
