My mom watched the show for the first time tonight. While he confronted his bounty she said "hopefully it gets better." I didn't ask her opinion as the episode went on. After the second one was over she left the room. I don't think she's overly impressed. Though, I don't think 70 year old women is the demographic they're going after.

Hmm. That's a mistake upon their part then.
Because our 70 year old parents? Guess what? As late 20somethings - early thirtysomes, many of them were entertained right along side us kids sitting there in the theaters back in '77/'80/& '83. That's younger than many of us are now who're debating this stuff here in this thread....

My dad would have loved it. A scifi western. Two things he enjoyed together. They both liked Star Trek and Stargate. My mom really liked Stargate. Maybe this will grow on her.

No, but she likes Nathan Fillion in Castle, and The Rookie. Firefly came to mind while I was typing that post. I think the space western is too much to take for some reason for her. The original Trek was a bit much for her. "Wagon Train to the stars" but my dad was the one that got me watching it.

Episode 3 comes out today, right? I'm going to wait to see it so we can watch it together. Maybe her opinion will change.

No flips for you!
This is the Mandalirian thread. Can you guys share fan-theories on Palpatine in a different one? It would be nice to have one Star Wars thread not on that topic.

And, on topic, episode three was amazing. From the Way to the character development to the acting without facial expressions to the rescue (both of them), it delivered.

I haven't seen 3 yet. I might wait until next Friday when family is visiting and watch the first four episodes with them. That would be like a regular length movie.

I finally watched the first one and I loved it. Getting glimpses into the most famous (non-jedi) culture in Star Wars has me seriously geeking out.

And as a fan of Spaghetti Westerns I love the Man with no name vibe. Time to bust out all the old no-name-star-wars-alien toys I have and pass them on to my kiddos.

And maybe go play some Dark Forces or Jedi Knight or Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy.

They have Mandalorian episodes in the cartoons.
