While on the subject of the limitation of Reactions, I think that the capstone of tactical/lazy marshal could that allies within presence gain a number of bonus reaction per round.
Or just a way to recharge an allie's reaction.

Like a recharge roll? I always though that leaving this mechanic out of character design was a waste. The 13th Age does some good things with recharge rolls.Or just a way to recharge an allie's reaction.
Tangent: One variant that keeps occurring to me is that classes that get Extra Attacks should also get Extra Reactions to make OA's and other reaction attacks. The phasing would have to be something like: While yo have your Reaction available, you can take a Opportunity Attacks a number of times equal to your Extra Attacks without consuming your Reaction. Or you might want to allow a variety of martial reactions, like protection style, as well as OAs. Could be a variant, Feat (like 3e Combat Reflexes0, or handled different ways by different features....While on the subject of the limitation of Reactions, I think that the capstone of tactical/lazy marshal could that allies within presence gain a number of bonus reaction per round.
This is a feature I gave my fighters some time ago, but it did not see much use since my players to not be tactically minded. If casting or shooting in melee still provoked, I think that it would be a cool feature.Tangent: One variant that keeps occurring to me is that classes that get Extra Attacks should also get Extra Reactions to make OA's and other reaction attacks. Also a variant that occurs to me a lot. 5e feels so much like earlier editions, but it does make casting too easy in a number of ways, one of which is there's little reason to fear melee when casting. That one, at least, is simple to add back.If casting or shooting in melee still provoked, I think that it would be a cool feature.
I don’t see much value in a subclass that specializes in helping spellscasters, not any value at all in leaving spellcasters out of the marshal’s abilities. If we can’t agree on a mechanic to include spellcasters in attack granting, the base class needs to at least account for them in some way.I think the spell-aiding marshal should an archetype. Let the rest more focused on martial actions. The spell slot transfer from the wildsoul barbarian was a neat mechanic that can be repurposed.
But the marshal's gambit cant grant a cantrip, right? Only weapon attacks?I don’t see much value in a subclass that specializes in helping spellscasters, not any value at all in leaving spellcasters out of the marshal’s abilities.
