D&D 5E Do you like dungeon crawls?

I am fine with a dungeon as a setting for an adventure.

I quickly get bored with "dungeon crawl" as the plot of an adventure.

I will gleefully crawl into a dungeon if there's a compelling reason for my character to be there - "kill monsters and take stuff" doesn't do the trick, for me.

I find that if a dungeon crawl (or for that matter a hexcrawl) goes on long enough, the reason for doing it can fall out of the players' minds. That's about when they become tedious, in my experience.
Very true! And a continuous series of dungeon assaults can be tedious if the purpose and other factors are lacking. Also how a DM runs them is a huge factor!

One thing that I've always noticed ... no matter how much care and construction goes into the MegaDungeon, the designer always forgets to put in bathrooms.

Orcs are designed to be pinatas for XP, but they still have needs, man.
I remember quite vividly that Keep on the Borderlands had the equivalent to a bathroom in the caves for the orcs. My players hid within and picked off a lot of both tribes this way.
