Don't turn this into an edition war!

I'm currently playing 5e. I use a lot of 2e material as inspiration for my 5e campaign.

Going forward I will only play/run 5e. It's close enough to the 2nd edition I was exposed to with BG2. I spent a lot of time with 3.5, and have two active games I'm running on GiTP if it comes back up, but 5e is all I'm going with for new content/games.

Why would it be a war? Everyone is free to like and play whatever they want, preference is subjective. But if we are speaking objectively about success, profits, and visibility, 5e is untouchable.

My FAVORITE edition is 1e.
What I'm currently playing/DMing is 5e & PF2.

My order of preference playwise is:
1e, 5e, PF1/3x, PF2, 2e, BECMI (includes Moldvay, Cyclopedia, Holmes)

OD&D & 4e (including 4e essentials) are only of abstract interest to me.
●OD&D - as a piece of history,
●4e - only to occasionally tease a 4e fan to see if I can get a rise out of them. They rarely dissapoint. :)

Currently running a game that is 2e it its core, but with houserules that draw on a number of other editions (primarily 1e and BX but if I see an idea I like in one of the WotC editions, I steal it). Played 3e/PF and a bit of 4e - liked them for the most part. 5e doesn't offer me anything that I'm not getting from my 2e hack, so I haven't bothered with it. It's good that there are so many editions to cater to different tastes. The more the merrier.

"Interesting" is a pretty subjective term, I took it to mean editions on which I'd probably read a forum topic on a mechanical or thematic concern specific to that edition.

So I picked B/X (probably the best base for OSR type games IMO), 2e, 3.5e, both 4es, and 5e.
