D&D 5E New Errata Released For D&D PHB, OotA, Xanathar, and ToF

WOtC has published an updated Sage Advice compendium with updated errata for the D&D Player's Handbook, Out of the Abyss, and for Xanathar's Guide and Tome of Foes.

Man, I bought the special editions of the core rule books because I thought they were finished with errata for them. At least the PHB just has two very minor changes.

Trap the Soul is removed from the Wizard spell list?

Since that note doesn't have "NEW" before it, that means that the change has been in place since at least the 2018 errata.

Am hoping that the Out of the Abyss errata means we are finally going to get a Roll20 version of that very good module.

Most of them are, though Ancestral Guardian seems to get a nerf (from d8s to d6s) and the Xanathar’s version of the research downtime action got cheaper.

Wait we're doing 4E-style buffs/nerfs in 5E now? I thought they said they'd only be clarifying misunderstandings in 5E. How long has this been going on for? Did I just miss it earlier - I admit given them saying they weren't doing 4E-style errata, I was paying like zero attention to them. I mean that's a gigantic nerf for Healing Spirit right there, and undeniably 4E-style, because it wasn't just missing text, or a "misunderstanding".

Seriously? They do a Mordenkainen's Errata and don't fix the Winter Eladrin? That actually makes me upset.

I do find it funny they fixed the Red Abishai, as we discovered in one campaign, those things were hitting far too hard.

The text in the paragraph was always d6's, but they copied the table from the UA that said it was d8's. This is just a clarification (even though I still use the d8's anyways)

Yeah but the Healing Spirit thing is a gigantic change which turns a spell from over-powered to "kinda dodgy". That's a classic 4E-style nerf.

It was a printing error, not a nerf. The table and the text had different dice values in them; one was correct, the other wasn't. Crawford was asked about this on the very first day of Xanathar's release.

Ah interesting. I've been playing a ton of 5E last few weeks (playing a weekly game for the first time since my teens) so thought I'd head over here to see how things were going. Sorry for being out-of-the-loop!
