D&D 5E 4-Element monks are the only monk archetype that excels against flying enemies

And you can spec all you want to get whatever you want. You'll be pretty MAD with Dex, Wis, and Cha as your important stats

Charisma is only important for save DCs. If you're spamming a lot of shield, fly, etc you dont really need it (other than the 13 minimum for the MCing).

Matches the Standard array for Aasimar. Not far off what you get with a straight Monk.

Sure, but your abilities are constantly fighting over your other abilities because there's no synergy. You're not both an equally good sorcerer and monk, you're either a level 5 sorcerer or level 5 monk.

Since you're apparently avoiding attack spells, you're just a sucky sorcerer or monk at range since, even if you go Kensei, you've missed out on the extra martial arts die from deft strike. You're not pulling off any good AoE with that arrangement anyways. You're going to run out of Ki fast at that level.

And again, take into account the journey up. It sounds like you're starting monk, so you have to make the choice of staying monk until level 4 and being quite mediocre as one just to dip into sorcerer for another 4 levels or else your ASI's are coming late and you'll be falling off the curve.

Your other spells have become quite useless since they're constantly fighting over your concentration.

You don't need me to tell you the consequences of multiclassing, though. If all you care about is being a flying monk, have at it.

Haste, Shield, Absorb elements, Mirror image, Misty step and Fly are all pretty good spells on a Monk no? He can quicken any of those spells and be Hasted, or flying, or Mirror imaged pretty fast and still attack that turn. I mean those spells go directly to the Monks strengths (Manoeuvrability and defence).

That's with 5 levels of Sorc; he still has 15 left for Monk.

If you only go 5 sorc, you miss out on the higher level spells. You don't get cone of cold and the wall spells, and you're still fighting over concentration of your spells. You miss an ASI, your 17th level subclass capstone, your 18th and 20th level monk abilities, a d10 martial arts die, and you're still wasting time being a half-baked monk just trying to get there. Basically, you're a barely decent monk until you get to level 5 in sorcerer, however long that takes you.

Besides, a 4-elemonk can get there, too. You wouldn't have to worry about getting fly but you essentially get an expanded spell list which actually allows for good AoE, so it's perfectly feasible to go 4-elemonk/sorcerer as well.

Now I'm thinking I want to get some friends and play a campaign with a 4E monk, a Frenzy Barbarian, a Beastmaster Ranger, and a Land Druid.

It might go something like this.....every session.

Player Characters drop to the ground at the end of a pitched battle

Monk: Whew! I'm pooped. What say we take an hour to catch our breaths?

Barbarian: Hour? How about a day? I'm literally exhausted.

Ranger: You guys have fun. I'm gonna bury Sparky XXVIII, my trusted wolf companion and go look for another creature to sacrifice its life to our great cause.

Druid: Looks around and feels pretty good about herself all things considered
