I use my console so infrequently that ever time I turn it on I have to wait half an hour for updates and stuff. Which makes me not turn it on. Which makes the problem worse. I'm in an infinite loop of console updated and no actual game playing.
And your Steam platform for the PC does not do updates like this? Mine sure does.

I have a Mac. Don't really play games on it.
Ah! Still, the new game design in computer games is pretty annoying. Sometimes the updates are many gigabytes more than the original game itself, almost as if an unfinished product was quickly released to the public then each day after that release those overlooked bugs were still getting fixed.

This has been going on a LOOOOOOONNNNG time. I won't do preorders as a result. I'm not going to pay software companies for abusing their QAers so they can hit their release date with an excessively buggy product.

These days I find myself playing shorter games like sports and racing titles or old retro platformers I can put down after 30 minutes. I just don't have the time, attention span, or stamina to play epic quest kind of games. Especially now that all of my TTRPG gaming is online.
