I’m not sure how well turn based play will work. There are a LOT of monsters to slay and while real time play can be a bit frantic and you rely on the scripts to get your team to act it is much faster.

Turn based games are definitely slower but for turn based fans I don't think that is a bug.

I just don't like party based games in real time (even with pause). There's too much to keep track of. But I am fine with, say, Diablo in real time since I only have to focus on one hero and the waves of enemies.
