I felt it necessary to clarify. Yes to debate. No to hate. Diverse groups are welcome. But hategroups have no place.

You'd need to hire actual white supremacists to be able to spot every single subtle reference like "1488" though. I'm not sure if that's the kind of diversity WotC is aiming for.

There are numerous resources and databases that anybody applying with for this job would be familiar with , particularly for folks whose job it is to catch those things in advance.

Not directly. What they'll do is make sure there are a diverse number of viewpoints in the workplace and hopefully one of them might catch similar references.



That's half right. Editorial input on products isn't anywhere in the job description. And quite frankly, you don't want HR having control of your gaming content. Unless we're designing Cubicals & Coaching: Role Playing in the Grim Present of Corporate Culture.

I assume the Inclusivity Manager is a different position from the Human Resources Manager.

So, I expect responsibilities of each to be noticeably different.

Not hiring someone because they are white is a good way to get sued. Plus, a white person can just as capable as any other person at this position.

As would I. But those responsibilities are listed right there in the job description and none of them mention editorial input or control.

I think when you combine all the ingredients together, the name of the card, the number, the image itself, and knowledge about the artist, a reasonable person can look at it and think there's more going on than just a coincidence.
