D&D 5E Kate Welch has left WotC

Over on Twitter, Kate Welch has announced that today was her last day at Wizards of the Coast!


That's a bit sad. She seemed to be doing some good work there.

From what I can read she does not seem to be bitter about it. I wish her luck and pleasure in her next endeavors.

Last we had heard (I think) she was moving over from design to taking over for Mike Mearls as the D&D liason to the video game affiliates. I wonder if she ended up deciding that was not what she ultimately wanted to do (perhaps since she had worked in video games previously?)

I still wonder what happened with the mysterious book of adventures she was working on. Now that she has left, maybe that does mean the project will never see the light of day, or it is finished and ready to publish and could be her testament to the time spend with WotC.

Then WotC has lost a big player. This book was amazing. Hope she'll find a job in another D&D adjacent company.
