Yep, they keep adding crap without understanding the game balance gets thrown out the window.
This happens with nearly every splatbook in every edition of D&D and almost every game except mayb e GURPS which has scientist as its line editor (Sean Dr. Kromm Punch).

true.

But armor proficiency should be worth a skill proficiency.

I kiiiiinda agree. Not sure about medium armor, though. If a race gave heavy armor, yes. Medium armor, though ... It does nothing for dex characters so it would just be a free feat for them. IDK.

I decided to use customize your origin but if you choose not to you get +1 to your standard array.

so custom lineage or a mountain dwarf w +2 int start w 16, 15, 13, 13, 10, 8 (i use a beefed array)
A vhuman or standard mdwarf start w 17, 15, 13, 13, 10, 8

This just illuminates the fact that if you're going to have floating ability scores for all races, then all races should've been designed with those in mind in the first place. As it stands, Tasha's rules for this are just half-baked and result in the nastiest imbalance 5e has seen, by far.
It results in no imbalance whatsoever.
