In DnD (and SWSE) terms, he's still losing hit points when those blaster bolts and lightsabers bounce off him.
Might be losing less than normal though. No idea if it exists in those old games but I'd say it has resistance or DR (depending on system) against energy damage.

Yeah, the SWSE stats I had for him above had him Elite Trooper levels (which grants DR), plus the Armoured Mandalorian talent (which improves it) that gives him a total of DR 4/- (that applies to lightsabers due to his beskgar armor).

He also had three talents from the Armor specialist talent tree (Armoured defence, Improved armoured defence and Second skin) that effectively give him +5 to his Reflex defence (AC) and +4 to his Fort defence from his Armor.

Due to his talents, his Mandalorian template Medium Beskargam armor grants him a total of +5 to Reflex defence, +4 to Fortitude and DR 4/- (including against Lightsabers); very tanky indeed.

He has enough wriggle room between his current level and 20th level to take a total of 8 levels in Elite Trooper, which would grant him an impressive DR 8/- in total (from his Talent and Class features).

He also has a ton of HP. Even when the blasters are 'bouncing off' his armor, you can see him weakening, getting overwhelmed and slowing down (when he charges down the corridor to the stormtroopers and in the most recent episode) showing that he is losing HP.

What were the troop transports the Stormtroopers arrived in?
They look some what similar in shape to the troop transports seen in The Force Awakens, but they are quite different when you put them side by side.

I'm still worried that Mando has left his jetpack behind on Tython, given that he's not wearing it when he goes to visit Cara at the end of the episode. However, I went back and looked at the scenes of him from episode 4 when he discovers that fish guy is working for Karga, and he's not wearing it then either, so maybe he just leaves it behind when he goes into town on Nevarro.
I'm not worried. It wasn't blown up with the Razor Crest, so the only reason to leave it behind is simple forgetfulness.

As the Slave I rockets away from Tython . . . .

Boba: Something bothering you Djarin?

Mando: I feel like I'm forgetting something important . . . .

Yeah, I went back and looked at earlier episodes, and he doesn’t always wear it. It seems like maybe he doesn’t wear it when he goes into town on Nevarro, so the fact he’s not wearing it when he’s talking to Cara doesn’t necessarily mean he left it behind.

Could even be the costume designers forgetting. It's not going to be in the scene so they didn't dress the actor.

One thing I did like was how the tied things back to two "filler" episodes in season one.

It's not a masterclass in story telling but just good basic attention to detail.

I love how they made it so he was literally smashing the stormtroopers' armor to bits with it.

Also, I like that they made Boba look suitably partially digested.

Am I correct in thinking that Boba survived because the krayt dragon killed the sarlacc? I feel like that was mentioned or implied during this season's first episode. I might have to go back and rewatch to be confirm.

I also like how he kept Fennec alive by turning her into a cyborg. She's one mean shot, and it's great to see her back in the show again.

Sure have! I've even seen the naff sequel, What Becomes of the Broken Hearted.
My imagined timeline goes something like this . . . .
  1. Boba falls into the Sarlaac pit.
  2. He manages to escape but has to leave his armor behind to do so.
  3. He builds a new life, sans armor
  4. Later, the Sarlaac dies (no dragon involved).
  5. Jawas scavenge the remains, find the armor.
  6. Cobb Vanth acquires the armor, Boba is unaware at first.
  7. At some point, the Krayt dragon moves into the Sarlaac's old house.
  8. Boba learns about Vanth using his armor and goes to retrieve it, right about the same time Mando does.
  9. Boba learns that Mando has his armor, and starts tracking him.
I don't think the Krayt dragon killed the Sarlaac, because then how would the Jawas have gotten ahold of the armor?

I must say, that armor's been through a lot, and still works pretty good all considering. All the rockets and other doo-dads still work after all of that . . .
