Maybe we should talk about how to rewritte the kenders because they are estereotyped or typecasted. I have said all PCs need enough flexibility and if a race only is good to be a type of class (fight, stealth or spellcasting) then it's a bad PC race.

I imagine kenders as little rascals with good heart, compulsive collectors, curious, friendly and kind with everybody, cute, daredevil, witty in a duel of insults (or rude curses), distracted but when they are focused into their favorite passion, blab, fresh, enthusiastic about traveling, stories, tales and legends, jovial and hopeful, encouranging sometimes, with a great sense of humor, sincere and improptu, but learning the hard way that "the mule owned by everybody is eaten by the wolves" (because nobody worried about taking care of it). Kenders aren't kleptomaniacs in the sense they don't enjoy stealing for the morbid of a forbidden action, but more like a unconscious compulsive hoarding. They don't get the things from the right place, for example the cupboard. Their philosophy if you find something without owner (in outdoors), nobody asks it before you then you can keep it for your bag. They neither like to pay for a cup of beer and this being drank by other who was next to them. Their economy couldn't survive if al the shops and business had to close because nobody pays for the acquired products. The fact is lots of kenders are (relatively) honest peddlers or merchants, or travelling artists. The typical answer usually is something "I didn't steal your tools kit because I have got mine in my backpack since time ago", or "I HAVE FOUND THIS! WHOSE'S IT? (Ok, if nobody answers then I can keep it)".

The female half-kenders would be perfect for fanart about maho-shojo or magical girls like the ones from the animanga.

Seriously. I want to know. If you were the DM of a game, would you allow me to play a Kender PC?
I'm generally running Eberron, so an actual Kender from Krynn would be tricky. We'd have a talk about what you actually want from the race and see if we can find a way of getting something that fits the setting and is acceptable to play.

This is one of the best descriptions of how I think a Kender should be!

And half-kenders?
A kender has the mentality and appearance of a child. There is no way I would allow a half-kender, not even as an NPC. It's basically take the old stories of how half-orcs came to be and make it far worse.

To kender, I say no. Even rewriting the rules will not work, as someone wanting to play a kender will probably know the original personality write up.

It doesn't help matters that their culture is all negatives with no positive traits.
