Why would the wizard's fellow adventurers, who have been with the wizard through thick and thin, from level 1 to the pinnacle of level 20, be hunting the wizard? Why would the person looking to kill their friend be their leader?
The Sorcerer can manipulate any creature to attack a school of magic. And detail, the Wizard do not even know that it is causing the sudden deaths.

How can the Sorcerer manipulate a creature to attack an entire school of magic?

And how would the wizard not know what was causing the deaths?

So we agree that outside your sandbox, your build would not be viable.
Simple. Wizards are useless and Sorcerer is infinitely better than the Wizard to manipulate creatures and lead nations. Kill enemies subtly and silently.

Simple, the actions of Sorcerer, wizards cannot create. The Sorcerer is the Master of Manipulation and murder. It is not possible for you to even know who the attacker is.
Sorry, but Wizards will be hunted as unclean blood.

What makes this true? Infallible skill checks and subtle spells.

I don't think Subtle Spell does what you think it does.

Infallible high roll checks to deception, persuation and intimidation.
"The Wizards are planning to attack the village. Kill him first."
High deception check with Telephatic to manipule the king.

"And how would the wizard not know what was causing the deaths?"
Because, no one is able to detect Bastion while it kills its enemies.
That simple.

Inside your closed sandbox yes, but in a real campaign world with real characters and a neutral DM, he would be just another boss monster to be killed and stripped of his valuables.

Sorry, neutral character that fail against deception checks will bealive that It's real.

In real campaigns, it is much easier for Bastion to create a legion to attack the schools of magic and make the wizards attack themselves. The Bastion is Master of Deception and High rolls.
