I have not been able to find anything regarding this situation in the NOW, NEW, or OLD core rule books, nor by searching this forum. How is moving through a square occupied by an opponent handled in WOIN?

This is something that came up in our game regularly, we've houseruled it as follows:

Tumble past opponent:
As part of a move action, you may try to squeeze through an opponent's square. Make an AGI + acrobatics or a STR + carry versus the MELEE DEFENSE of your target, or make a CHA + intimidation versus the MENTAL DEFENSE. If you succeed, you can continue your movement. Count each square the opponent can reach as difficult terrain (usually it's own square and all squares within 5').

If you fail, you end up adjacent to the target and your movement ends; if your opponent is armed with a melee weapon, he may now make a free melee attack at you as a reaction. If you fail critically, you fall prone also.

Uhm... how do you fail critically?
3 dice showing 1?
Is this RAW I didn´t find so far?

Hi Mac, we created a houserule (again) that if you fail a check by more than half (so if the DC is 20, you roll a 10 or lower) you have some kind of very detrimental effect. We use that for generic skill checks mainly.

We played with the idea of doing it when rolling 3 1's, but the silly thing was that the better you got in a skill (rolling more dice), the bigger your chance of a critical failure would become. Conversely, when rolling 3 6's, we usually count it just as a double success in an extended skill-check, or it has some other benefit to the player (GM discretion).

As an alternative house rule to the one used by Evil_DM and his crew, my group and I decided that a critical fumble was rolling all ones, so that the more dice you could use (i.e., higher MDP), the lower your chances of a critical fumble, same for foes as well as PCs.

Well, that was fun

While it's not official the fumble rule I use in my now game is if more than half your dice are 1s. So if you are rolling 7d6, 4 ones is a critical fail.

My group still says the game is too hard (especially fights).
They´d fumble me if I´d introduce fumble rules :ROFLMAO:
