[IC] Eberron: The Plumbers

Korra tries to remember what she's supposed to do if she's falling. There was bird thing the nobleman's friend gave her. Where did she put it? It's in the coin pouch! Just as she remembers she finds her falling has slowed. I guess you just have to think about it and it works, she thinks. Magic is weird. Hey, did someone fire arrows this way? Below her she sees the a gnoll land on a platform, she swims toward the platform. Slowly she descends, her axe at the ready. He knows she's gunning for him.

(Can she get there this turn or not?)

Leatherhead

Possibly a Idiot.
Having looked over the Oiren Token, Rotom knew there wasn't anything she could do other than trust in it. Fortunately, her trust was rewarded. In a burst of gaudy magic that was just as much an advertisement as it was a safety feature, the unicorn sprouts a pair of wings. Then, the newly forged pegasus jumps to affix itself on the kobolds's back, where it's wings grow to accommodate her size, slowing her decent. Rotom couldn't help but think the flashy display was a pity though, she would have liked to take the token apart later.

In the mean time, Rotom took aim at the fleeing changeling. The artificer's bolt goes wide, but the recoil combined with the token's lifting force provides enough of a twist to allow the small kobold to fall onto the bridge.

After she stops herself from spinning, Rotom shouts out to her companions: "Don't let that one get away! They might have done something to the real Gilroy!"

OOC: Rotom really needs to get a new crossbow, this one still hasn't hit anyone, hah.

Round 3

Alara managed to get off a spell as she fell, coating one of the magical disks in grease of the gnoll left pursuing her. The gnoll managed to keep his footing (Dex 17), though he slowed down a bit as Alara landed safely on the bridge.

Ogham landed near her as well. (Athletics 18)

Korra tried to direct her fall toward one of the gnolls (Athletics 8), but proved unable to reach it. She had even less luck aiming for the bridge where the others had landed (Athletics 7, natural 1). Instead, she fell 40 feet past the bridge and found herself getting entangled on a projecting flagpole from the tower.

OOC: Korra is 40 feet below the others, clinging to a flagpole. You could try and climb your way over to an open window or up to the bridge (Athletics DC 12, at half speed). Or however else you want to handle your predicament. You do have 2 gnolls after you with bows.

Rotom activated her Orien unicorn charm and slowed her fall. She tried to fire at the fleeing changeling, but her aim was off as she concentrated more on landing on the bridge with the others.

"Don't let that one get away! They might have done something to the real Gilroy!" the kobold called out.

Liutbrand managed to pull his longbow around and fire an arrow at his pursuing gnoll, just catching it in a seam in its armor (13 to hit, 7 damage) . Then he landed gracefully (Athletics 21, natural 20).

DePoe tried firing off his shortbow at a gnoll, but the poison still in his system made his aim waver. (disadvantage, 8 to hit) He did better -- barely -- in reaching the others on the bridge, (Athletics disadvantage 10) hitting the very edge and nearly falling over back into free fall before Ogham grabbed his shirt and pulled him onto the pavement and safety.

The gnolls continued their attack, sweeping down on their magical disks toward them. Another arrow hit Alara, but her thick robes stopped much of the force (18 to hit, 2 damage), and he managed to keep his footing on the slippery disk yet again.

One gnoll fired at Liutbrand, but missed. The other two remaining gnolls followed Korra in her fall past the bridge, firing arrows after her. One missed (14), but the other caught her directly in the back (critical hit, 9 damage).

The changeling continued to push its way into the crowd, trying to get away.

PLAYERS ARE UP!

OOC: DePoe is still Poisoned (disadvantage on all rolls) for about 16 more hours.

Alara cursed at the sight of the fleeing watch sergeant. But Rotom was right, it was dangerous to let them get away.

She charged forward, reluctantly putting her back to the circling gnolls to give chase. Seeing the crowd parting before the thing, she made a decision for which she knew she would hate herself.

The Audnairan had always hated the chauvinism directed at changelings and other persecuted races. She had seen enough of war to know that no individual was incapable of evil, and no creature so base it could not commit an act of good. But she was wounded, her friends were under attack, and this creature had to be stopped.

Mustering the most commanding voice that ten generations of aristocracy could breed she cried out, "Stop her! That is a child of the Traveler, and she has killed a member of the Watch!"

OOC:
Persuasion roll for mob (+4)

An aristocrat inciting mob violence, what could go wrong?: 1D20+4 = [2]+4 = 6

Sigh. They're not buying it.

Having been trained to fight in a team, Ogham is not even aware of his choice to help Korra first. The warforged produces his rope from his pack and tosses one end to the half-orc while holding the other end tightly.

"Help," he asks of his allies still closeby, so that together they can help Korra much quicker.

OOC: Not sure if that counts as a Help action. It at least provides Korra with an option.

(Where is the closest place Korra can find firm footing? And perhaps cover.)
Korra is about 40 feet below the bridge everyone else is on, and about 40 feet from a window. That would be the closest cover. But she would have to go the long way around to get to the bridge (1d4 rounds of running).

I will say that as a Help action, Korra can move at full speed up the rope instead of half. It's still 40 feet, though.
