I've seen this speculated about elsewhere, but Vader's "You should not have come back." line to Obi-wan in ANH could be read different ways, and one of them is that he and Obi-wan had an encounter (or more than one) in between the end of ROTS and ANH. The phrasing could even be read as Obi-wan has encountered Vader on the first Death Star before.

It could easily be set in a time in which Luke is still a non-speaking role.

I thought it was already said the series would be taking place about halfway between prequel and original trilogy, or at least some of it is, so about when Luke is 8-10 years old. This is also several years before the events in Rebels, so unlikely there will be a crossover there. Though maybe it will cover that time too and that is when they will introduce a live-action Ezra Bridger and we get to see the live-action version of the final fight between Obi-Wan and Maul.

I had forgotten about Maul - it's almost guaranteed we'll see him in this, isn't it? I mean, why wouldn't they go there?

I think this is a common expectation. Kenobi seems to slot in at 9-8 BBY, between Solo and Rebels, and Maul is in both of those.

However, Ventress should be dead at that point.
