I saw the trailer, watched it, and then remember I had read the prequel to it Jupiter's Circle (i think). Then I was excited to see it cause I really liked what happened in the prequel.
I really like it, I would say it is my favorite comic to "movie" adaption so far. Some of that is because it explores very similar themes to my last Superhero Campaign. I think Sheldon and the others are indeed out of touch, but at least Sheldon is not dealing with some major trauma and just doubling down on The Code. I think it blinds him to what he really needs/wants to do or what is necessary.
The action sequences are very stylized and I wondered why I really liked the visuals, and the jumps back and forth in time: I think its because they shot it like a comic book. When that thought hit me I then looked at some of the action sequences, and they really did remind me of comic book panels. The fighting isn't really "naturalistic", like most current superhero films who shoot the action sequences like all movies shoot action sequences, its framed like you do in a comic.
So I'd have to summarize with it is my favorite live action comic book superhero media.
