Arcana of the Ancients - Where the Machines Wait by Monte Cook Games

  • RETAIL PRICE: $29.99
  • DESCRIPTION: A mega-adventure for D&D for characters of roughly 5th level. 35 secret of the silver spire.PNG
Secret of the Silver Spire | The Sacred Temple of Erwadu by Dungeoneer’s Guild Games
  • SYSTEM: Advanced Dungeons & Dragons
  • PRODUCT TYPE: module
  • RETAIL PRICE: $16.99 each
  • DESCRIPTION: In Secret of the Silver Spire (for levels 3 to 7) the PCs explore a strange silver tower that shines like a polished mirror that has recently appeared out of thin air. The tower is inhabited by strange creatures, such as the barzani ape-men, modrons of many types, and three-faced golden sentinels. The enigmatic overlords are the "silver masters" — alien beings made of pure energy. The spire’s maze of rooms is stuffed with strange equipment and curious items these creatures have collected from all over the multiverse. The module contains eighteen original black-and-white illustrations. Russ Nicholson (of Fiend Folio fame) created the cover art featuring the Spire and its alien inhabitants. The Sacred Temple of Erwadu, dedicated to the god, Enki, towers majestically over the marshes that cluster along the banks of the broad river delta. PCs of level 7 to 10 must survive four deadly levels. The inside of the great ziggurat temple likely holds vast treasures inside its fresco-lined chambers and mud-bricked walls, likely protected by terrible guardians that keep the unworthy from claiming them. This adventure contains background notes, a cutaway map of the temple, five new monsters, six variable endings, and 13 original illustrations to show the players. The referee can opt to play this module one of two ways — as a ‘Living’ or, ‘Lost’ temple.

Depending on how they last fared, the Empire will either be at war and the river packed with refugees and soldiers. Or life will be carrying on with trading, piracy, taxes, and the occasional bit of Chaos to deal with. The Collector’s Edition bundles Death on the Reik and the Companion together, both with new cover art. The Death on the Reik Companion is packed with additional rules, optional NPCs, adventure hooks, and advice for new and veteran GMs alike. Also included are new rules, the Warrior of Tzeentch Career, new river creatures, and The Emperor Luitpold, a luxury barge with a bevy of secrets in its holds and staterooms. These two books support The Enemy Within. But they also cover an entire campaign of river travel and adventure. And the art is stunning.

Reading the review on the linked site for the dice tower:

I'm building it now. The colors are a bit hard to see in the instructions. But the rest of the review is BS. It is stable and fun to build. A few parts are loose until you move on to reinforce them, but they do get reinforced. A great purchase for a great price. And like the 5 star review reports, the bricks are surprisingly high quality.

Hello guys, can someone tell me if it is worth it to get that Warhammer Fantasy Directors Cut for Death on the Reik when I already have the normal one for 4th Edition Warhammer?

Not unless the stimulus payments need something of significant value to expense.

I don't own them. I know two things though. The amazing cover art from the standard version is inside on a full page with no words so you don't miss it if you get the fancy version (which you know 'cause you have the standard version). And from Cubicle 7:

As with Volume 1, the books are case bound, with a few extra little surprises tucked in that we won’t spoil here.

I don't know exactly what that means. It appears to be exactly the same game content with very high production values. Like seeing a favorite movie in IMAX back when we used to go to movies.

Thank you for your reply. I did some more digging on my own and it seems, that they just name all the Warhammer 4th Edition Versions of this the Directors Cut, because they were changed and revised from the old versions.
