D&D 5E Ray Winninger mentions third project!

WotC's Ray Winniger has confirmed that another D&D release, by James Wyatt, will be released in between Witchlight (September) and Strixhaven (November). Strixhaven was Amanda Hamon's project, while Witchlight is Chris Perkins'. That assumes he's not referring to the Feywild accessory kit in September. Yes, WILD BEYOND THE WITCHLIGHT is the [Chris Perkins] story product I referenced in our dev blog. STRIXHAVEN is [Amanda Hamon's] project. We have not yet announced [James Wyatt's] project, which releases between WITCHLIGHT and STRIXHAVEN.

Why did we announce STRIXHAVEN so early? Pretty simple--there was no way to release the STRIX-related Unearthed Arcana without letting the cat out of the bag.

You'll learn a lot more about all of these products at D&D Live on G4, July 16 and 17. And yes, there is still a little surprise or two ahead.

Greyhawk's niche is nostologia, not genre, it doesn't have to have a special subgenre like steam punk, to sell it play the this was the first D&D angle. It won't step on FRs toes, because FR's so big GH can't reqch them.

Why if I may ask?
Because after both of them came out every table I sat at which had a mess of planar travel used the Spelljammer ships, too, in order to make the interdimensional travel an interesting part of the journey, rather than just walking up or down the infinite staircase to find the right portal.

As a general rule, reporters on D&D are just re-reporting official WotC releases, it's extremely rare to see source work done (has to be one of the big scandals/controversies rather than standard product rollouts)
WotC also has to agree to interviews. Given that last week was them doing a roll-out of the information on their own, it's entirely possible they said "later" for interviews.

Right, that's my point: there was no indication anywhere that Witchlight has character options: it may, or it may not, but we don't know that it does.

But why? I'm sorry, but this is all mostly wish-fulfillment for fans of these settings. I could see them doing Greyhawk as the iconic old school setting, but Mystara? I just don't see it happening, except as either within a Worlds of D&D book or maybe by a third party. Mystara doesn't add anything new to the 5E's thematic coverage, except for elves with mustaches.
One of the issues with Asian and Middle Eastern-based places in the Realms is that they are to the East of the pseudo-European region, which also mean it has that same dividing line of West and East, Occidental and Oriental, Europe and Asia. That eliminates a lot of the more generic book names they could use. but what they could do is give us the Eastern version of Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide and call it the Eastern Realms Adventurer's Guide, with about the same level of detail covering everything from Al'Qadim to Kara-Tur and all in between the two. I think it would work, since one of the old boxed sets was called Kara-Tur: The Eastern Realms.
I play the heck out of 1E oriental adventures to this day. If they would put out a hardback with a badass ninja and samurai and update of that book for 5E with a name other than oriental or Asian to make people happy. I would be buying a minimum of 6 copies to give to my players as a gift. That is my long term players of over 20 year more life 30+. Yes they look forward to Christmas from me.

If they ever do decide to do Dragonlance I'm sure they would. Old time fans would hate it and call it an abomination unto Nuggen.
You mean like what happened with the Chaos War, 5th Age, and War of Souls? If whatever changes the made, if they bring it back closer to the original series, it might actually be received better.
