D&D 5E New WotC Survey! Learn About A New D&D Product!

WotC has launched a new survey about the future of D&D. This survey includes an NDA (which some people have not taken to well!) halfway through, which asks you not to talk about the survey on pain of being tracked down and fined, but it's about an upcoming (unannounced) new D&D product. You can find out what it is by taking the survey (or it's all over social media aready).

I thought they blatently talked about doing The NDAed Product in another survey, anyway? I recall hearing about it previously

Anywho boy howdy are they going to love my answer to the "What other games do you play on Discord question". They didn't specify just, tabletop games so I answered honestly. Because I'm sure knowledge of me hanging out on Discord with folks playing Apex or FFXIV is going to help things

Right after the survey asked me whether I had seen the top secret thing well enough to answer questions about it (to which I answered “yes”), it showed me the door. No clue why, unless perhaps it was my advanced age.

Two things from this survey.

1) They don't think anyone has played 4E any time in the last year. (It's the only edition they didn't ask about in this regard)

2) They really need to add an option when asking about race features for "indifferent", otherwise they're going to get a lot of rubbish results.

It seems to be to a degree. I was shown a promotional video but wasn't actually asked any questions about it, so I don't understand why it's supposed to be secret.

I guess the point is to just encourage people to take the survey. But if people are taking the survery purely out of curiosity, then it's going to mess with their data, as people will just click through it. I probably wasn't the person they really want to be asking to give opinions about specific features for each race.

And, not commenting on what I saw in my survey (sorry, something in my eye making me make winking motions …) but commenting just on what someone said here on this thread only …

Some sort of hybrid digital / in person, subscription based super D&D Beyond model holds zero interest for me and I REALLY hope it isn’t the future of D&D …
