D&D 5E New WotC Survey! Learn About A New D&D Product!

WotC has launched a new survey about the future of D&D. This survey includes an NDA (which some people have not taken to well!) halfway through, which asks you not to talk about the survey on pain of being tracked down and fined, but it's about an upcoming (unannounced) new D&D product. You can find out what it is by taking the survey (or it's all over social media aready).

Really dumb.

And, not commenting on what I saw in my survey (sorry, something in my eye making me make winking motions …) but commenting just on what someone said here on this thread only …

Some sort of hybrid digital / in person, subscription based super D&D Beyond model
holds zero interest for me and I REALLY hope it isn’t the future of D&D …
Hybrid meatspace+local VTT is how I've GM'd for a few years now & you get a lot of the benefits that come with both styles. Unfortunately the tools beyond VTT's capable of displaying over hdmi tend to be designed for some other use case entirely. There definitely is a market for well made tools supporting that hybrid style but dndbeyond is very much not it & tiny hard to use cell phone based character sheets are absolutely not helpful when the gm has a laptop & the players are staring at a freaking TV in the middle of the table.

I crit!
See, if mr darjr isn't happy with it, you know WotC is doing something really stupid ;).

Anyhow, I watched the video and then it just said "your survey is complete." I didn't even get to respond to it in any way. I call agism! #11percentersstillmatter
Just to note I mean the inability to talk about it.

I does have a market. VTTs are being used a ton nowadays. The hybrid formula you mentioned made me remember the video announcement for 4E "The game remais the same!", showing a digital companion and all.
Man, that would be a great annual adventure hardcover, with a Sigil gazetteer to set up a home base for the adventurers.

Make it so, WotC.
And there we got the Planescape setting/campaign book, straight outta an AP. Sounds good enough, and we get to play Pirates of the Astral Sea, too, if we want. I know at least two players that would roll Jack Sparrows (sigh).
