As revealed by Nerd Immersion by deciphering computer code from D&D Beyond!

Fizban the Fabulous is, of course, the accident-prone, befuddled alter-ego of Dragonlance’s god of good dragons, Paladine, the platinum dragon (Dragonlance’s version of Bahamut).

Which makes my guess earlier this year spot on!

UPDATE -- the book now has a description!

If the modules were given to Goodman Games to do their thing to, how big do you think that book would end up? lol
It'd have to be multiple fat volumes.

I don't see the DL series being something that WotC would let Goodman have, though. Seems too ripe for an update by WotC themselves.

The old versions of the 1E modules AND the 2E trilogy redoing the War of the Lance are for sale right now on DMsGuild.

I’m not sure those are their style. Don’t get me wrong, I think they’d excel at it.
Yeah, Joseph Goodman's aesthetic has been very consistent since he founded the company almost 20 years ago: He's interested in D&D from the start of 1E through about the point when they started having multi-colored module covers. Dragonlance is past the border of what he cares about. He's an early 1E purist.

(And to be fair, as a GenX player, I still think of the multicolor module covers as "the new ones.")

So, in the early 90's, TSR put out three 128 page books that covered DL1-4, DL 6-9, and DL 10 & 12-14, respectively (cutting out the non-plot releases). in 1999, WotC put out a 256 page book covering the same material.

I think a 5E book of the War of the lance is doable.

I'm sure this has even less possibility of happening than catastrophic dragons making a return, but I liked the 4E lore that Bahamut, Tiamat, and the dragonborn race are all pieces of Io. I was also a big fan of the design for Io that showed-up exactly one time:

honestly, it was better than prior lore and is brutally metal which is always a good thing with race origin.
I too like a lot about that Io design. The six legs are a nice touch, but not quite as big a fan of the nose frill.
I want it way bigger and far stranger also can we have a gem dragon god who has an honest to gods goal?
