Looks like Spelljammer and/or Planescape is back on the menu!

This really the first time I have look at the new lineage format and I must say I really like it. I like that the traits are what are essential to the race, not its ability scores. I will still apply my standard racial limits, but I like that the bonuses are removed.
This is what I was trying to say all this time. You look at this and don't feel locked in to a specific build. You have a lot of open possibilities, not having to worry about what class is "viable" for the race.

I already failed because I gave here stats - I know a lot of faithful think that is a big no-no.
I think Vecna might've beaten you to the punch first. IIRC, there was a 2E adventure that did that or something. Which then changed everything, lore wise, to 3E/3.5.

Which it never will be because most people don't care about the world, setting, roleplaying, getting into character...they only care about the rules.
I think that is awfully presumptuous to suggest people don't care about those things. In fact, I feel it is more and more the case that people do care about those things. It seems more an issue of your perception and gaming environment than the reality of the millions of people playing D&D. I've seen it both ways, I have one group that cares about that stuff, and another that doesn't.
