When I started doing 1/2 races back in 3.5, my method was you take the the stat bonuses from both races, add them together and divide by two, rounding down.
Then, you take the better vision and the better speed of the two.
You get the language of both parents.
And finally you take the number of traits each parent offers (say one parent offers 4 and the second parent offers 2) adding them together and taking the average. Using the example in Parenthesis 4 + 2 = 6/2 = 3, so the offspring gets 3 Traits from a combination of their parents.
The traits they choose must be from both parents, they cannot just take them all from one parent.
