D&D 5E What do you think of Fizban's races, subclasses feats and spells?

Really, do you think it's as bad as that? Average of +2.5 damage per attack for the duration of the combat? Not to mention use in overcoming resistance/immunity/regeneration. Obviously, the more attacks per round you have the better it is. And resistance to whatever damage type you need PB times per day.

I reckon it's significantly better than the metallic gift, which I can't see being much good unless you are a sorcerer or EK and want to add cure wounds to your spell selection and dump Shield.
I think it is underpowered. It is +1d4 for one combat a day. Comparing to other options to increase damage:

1. Fey touched can get you hex or hunters mark which provides 1d6 for an entire hour, along with once a day misty step and a +1 in an ability. If you are a caster not only do you get the once a day, you add it to your spell list and can use it more than once.

2. Fighting initiate can get you about +2 damage all day long in every battle through dueling, great weapon fighting, thrown weapon fighting etc.

3. Taking the ASI in your attack stat will give you +1 damage all the time and increase your chance to hit, your saves and your skill(s).

4. Magic initiate can get you hex for 1d6, which last an hour along with two cantrips.

The metallic gift is better for any caster IMO, because it adds cure wounds to your spell list. It has decent value for any class, combined with a Sorcerer, Bard or Wizard though it is pretty good because it can be upcast as well. It is not as valuable for EK IMO because youn don't have many high level slots. Also the bonus to AC as a reaction is decent at low levels and gets better at high levels.

I personally think that both Chromatic and Metallic should also allow a +1 stat bump. As it stands, Gift of the Gem Dragon is already the best out of the three "Gift of Insert Dragon type" for that alone. True its only for mental stats but still.

Yeah this woudl be a big boost to bot.

I have to say, the power of the dragonborn to use their breath weapons as "one of your attacks" vs taking a whole action makes it so much better.
For the classes with Extra Attack. For my dragonborn warlock it's their whole action.

Though it does mean that even if you only have one attack you still can breath and then trigger things that require you to have taken an Attack action.

Here is my take S/A/B/C/D/F:

Spells:
Nathair's mischief: D
Rime's Binding Ice: A
Ashardalon's Stride: B (S for a Ranger or EK)
Raulothm's Psychic Lance: A
Summon Draconic Spirit: B
Fizban's Platinum Shield: D
Draconic Transformation: A
I found every single spell to be at least "good".

For example you rate Nathair's mischief as a D but every single effect in that list is good for a 2nd level spell (charmed, blinded, incapacitated with spent movement, difficult terrain), with a good range and good movable area of effect, and even if targets make their saves they have to save again the next round. I am guessing you like predictability - I do too, but they're all predictably bad for your foes and all can disable a foe in one way or another.

Comparing it to overpowered top tier feats is not enough to rate something poor. The equivalent of 1+PB 1st level spell slots per long rest makes GCD a strong average.
Fey touched can get you hex or hunters mark which provides 1d6 for an entire hour
Hunter's Mark and Hex are concentration, and rarely last to the end of one fight if you play RAW. But still, as a half feat Fey Touched is GWM overpowered. That doesn't make anything else poor.
because it adds cure wounds to your spell list.
The majority of classes already have cure wounds on their spell list. If you don't already have it someone else in the party almost certainly does. GMD is also equivalent it 1+PB 1st level spell slots, making it almost exactly equal to GCD.

I mostly agree, but Fizban's Shield is pretty sucky for the level of spell and expensive material component. It's pretty close to an F.

Compared to Fizban's Shield Nathair's Mischief is awesome! (Bards especially).

I don't reckon Draconic Transformation is much good - I would rate it C on this rather ridiculous scale.

I’ve liked it all but I’m mostly worried that they’ll change their mind or they’ll just reprint the stuff again in six months in another book. 😑

6th level Lore Bard with Ashardalon's Stride and Find Steed. Certainly not gamebreaking compared to other spells you can pick up with magical secrets, but could be a fun build.
