I'm picking it up under the hopes of having some new social systems that can be lifted. Also seems like a good "intro" setting for younger players.

Story came out in February, set in April.

April, IIRC. This is the first Magic Setting thst isn't an old and established fan favorite from the card game's history.

How could any magic setting be an established fan favourite the first time it appears? They where all new the first time around.

It's a brilliant idea to have an unusual setting and pc setup for a campaign. Next could be a city watch campaign, magical firewatch campaign, or all the players are members of the same thieves guild. Think about it - a Shadow Thieves campaign in Amn!

Of course, there would be at least one person who says something like "lol Harry Potter" because its not a campaign about dungeons fighting dragons or something.

single concept (if not single class) campaign/adventure sets not only work well on there own, but would combine well for homebrew.

Hey I have a 'mage school' adventure and a 'thief guild' adventure and a 'knights of the realm' adventure... and I can run a well rounded setting of my own stealing parts of the mage school, the thieves guild and the knights to make my own...
