I'm looking at 2 8's right now, and changing that is somewhat peripheral to my plans. A feature of the system.

Hmm, with 7 players going for 6 ability scores, that's 42 needed. There's 4 per category for 24 plus 5 wild, and the gauntlets of ogre power as a immediate sub-in. So that's 30 set scores for the 42 needed. There are also 6 +2 scores, but nothing says those will be used by people with 8s. So we're looking at 30-36 scores out of 42 - there will be 8-16 stats starting at 8 before being modified by the bottom chart. A bit less than two 8s per character. That's not judging, just looking at what we have.
Yea, my rough expectation was that everyone would probably end up with 1-2 "8 and belows", depending on how the picks shook out. I might tweak it to put some 10-11s mixed in with some of the lower "extra stuff", but I want to see how the final characters come out before I start planning out the final version.

The characters are level 4 right? So there's an ASI to apply as well, unless that's supposed to be included in the stat levels for the draft. I wasn't sure which was suppose to be the case...

Nope, you get all the normal stuff you would get at level 4. I can't really assume an ASI because multiclassing could happen.

That's very true. Or a feat I guess. One of the reasons I decided on Gloomstalker over Assassin was that I didn't need the Alertness feat quite so badly. If I were actually going to play this character I would consider two levels of fighter to get Action Surge and the other assorted goodies. Fighter 2/Gloomstalker 3 is a pretty sweet build as an Assassin stand-in.

Yea, knowing how long the game is going to go on is pretty important for making characters. A game going from 4 to 16 is very different than a level 4 one-shot.
