A Minor Rant

I am really fed up with the fact that you basically can't both have a presence online -- social media, watching YouTube, visiting Reddit -- and not be able to wait 2 or 3 days to watch a movie or show without being spoiled on the big reveal or whatever. After 6 hours or less, your YouTube feed is filled with videos announcing the thing in the title or on the image. When did this become acceptable? When did the spoiler warning disappear and the waiting period to shout out secrets and endings go away?

I crit!
Just mark them as "not interested". You don't need those channels anyway. Same with twitters and other sites.

For instance I don't get spoiled on youtube.

Yeah it can be frustrating. Even worse with geolocking and being in the wrong area.

And when people say “just stay offline till you watch it” — for everything? There’s never a time when it’s not happening. My job is online.

Hawkeye and Spider-Man both spoiled by articles with spoilers in the headlines. Pictures from Hawkeye on Twitter, not even behind a mouse click, just right there.

In my opinion, reporting on things and therefore spoiling things has become so many people's 'job' that they don't care. I think that explains all the clickbait thumbnails, the outright spoiling in thumbnails and descriptions, you name it. And to make matters worse, so many people are squatting on the same topics to fight for that monetization that Not Interested-ing channels is like swatting air. YMMV

All of this.

There is furious competition of eyeballs. So, many sources will care less about spoiling your experience than they care about being first out there with just about any media news.
Without a moment's thought that sort of behaviour makes people block them, not watch them. "FIRST!" - The post of people who don't understand that there is zero value in being first, if the content does not also have value.
