Where there is a matter at hand where establishing an issue is at least part of the point.
Do you mean establishing that an issue is, like, an actual issue. Establishing that we both agree that a stated thing is a problem?

Or at least some general consensus it is, even one of us as an individual does not agree.
We're through the looking glass, people. Are we now at the point where we're arguing about what arguing is?
It's nearly impossible to actually change someone's mind online. I think that's why I try to stay away from "arguing" as much as possible. From the Orcs and Drow poll, is anybody else getting the impression that all of the arguing has not moved the needle at all whatsoever? Or am I misreading the whole issue?
Some people don't think the needle needs to be moved, some think that if you don't move the needle that it means you are morally bankrupt, others ask "what needle".From the Orcs and Drow poll, is anybody else getting the impression that all of the arguing has not moved the needle at all whatsoever? Ya so between all those different positions, I was thinking along the lines of inefficiency, or cost-benefit analysis. The cost seems high (all that arguing, time and energy). The benefits seems negligible. Some people don't think the needle needs to be moved, some think that if you don't move the needle that it means you are morally bankrupt, others ask "what needle".
There were a lot of people who didn't know what the issue was, and learned via forum posts. Maybe here, maybe elsewhere. From the Orcs and Drow poll, is anybody else getting the impression that all of the arguing has not moved the needle at all whatsoever? Or am I misreading the whole issue?
