D&D General Chris just said why I hate wizard/fighter dynamic

I'm not getting into edition wars again. I don't want to ever play anything resembling 4E again, 5E is the most popular version of D&D ever and we aren't going back. Have a good one.
I love that you pick a fight then say you don't want to fight it. This is the second time YOU did this in this thread.

We aren't going back to 4e but 6e could mover forward and build on it.

Sell-in of 4th Edition has “far exceeded expectations”

Man, how low where these expectations ?!?... :p

Also, this was pre-order, the anticipation went quickly sour, and it remains the edition that, overall, lasted the shortest time, and that caused D&D to drop from the first place in played RPGs EVER. It had qualities, for sure, but the reality is exactly as per the previous sentence, deal with it. The fact that it has a few die-hard fans is nice, but it would be even nicer if they did not use completely besides the point information to try and make people feel as if it was successful. It was not, it was the worst of any edition, once more deal with it and concentrate on the things inside that it brought forth and that can still be used to enhance the game of other players.

There will be no 6e for a loooooonnnnnnnnnggggggg time, WotC is certainly not going to kill the golden goose of 5e.

In addition, 5e was successful probably because of the long playtest, and that costed a large amount of money, there would have to be a really strong business case (which for 5e was prompted by the catastrophic perspectives of 4e) to justify it. So no, it won't happen any time soon.

okay... 1 campaing, 1 DM didn't have the problem I guess the rest of us are bad DMs or lieing... for some reason.

You have no stats, but I'm with @Oofta on this one, not been a problem for us in any edition, ever, from BECMI to AD&D to 3e to 5e, and we've done 20 campaigns of that last one so far.

okay, show your work

show a time that pathfinder passed 4e before 4e was winding down
It may we'll have been the most popular edition to play up to that point. I just don't think pre-sales information is capable of showing that. What you posted could show it was the most anticipated.

I'm just stating the fact that during 4E D&D slipped to second place in Q2 of 2011. D&D 5E was announced in spring of 2012.

You like what you like, there's nothing wrong with that. I just want different things than you do.

EDIT: only reason I responded was to add the link backing up the timeline and include the reference.
