I expect unique variations, but I would think something like Van Richten's Guide is likely.Spelljammer is in my mind a lock for this year. The UA races screamed Spelljammer, like it wasn't hiding it's Spelljammer roots in any way (and didn't try to).
And on the last episode of Dragon Talk, Greg Tito hinted about a sci-fi product coming for D&D (he linked it to his own Star Trek podcast). That, combined with the cover with a space hamster/Beholder on it... I mean, Spelljammer is coming sometime this year.
That said, the type of product, being perhaps an adventure like Witchlight (which also included new races) or a new setting book, is more debateable.
Personally? A new book with new art, new maps, collected info in one place and new lore and new ideas. Also, maybe some spells, feats, maybe a couple of sub-classes, some monsters. A GH release would also (most likely) imply the opening of the setting on DM's Guild. Not to be insensitive, but what would you actually want from WotC for a 5e version of Greyhawk? As far as rules go, it's pretty bog-standard, with little to no new rules needed. And all the lore is legally available through DMs Guild.
I suspect he doesn't talk about, at least in part, because of who he shares credit with on it.Huh, no idea he ever tried designing.
Now, opening it up on the Guild would be great. All that other stuff, just seems like convenience. Not enough for me to drop $50+ on it.Personally? So, the Realms. Possibly (hopefully) expanded beyond the Sword Coast. To be clear, the 2024 setting is revisiting a setting already published in 5e. Therefor, it will not be Darksun. Darksun could appear in 2022 or 2023, but they are not going to revisit that setting a year or two later.
This is the most plausible lineup, from the clues we have so far (various Wizards hints, Fizban's, the Multiverse UA, etc.).So....
2022: Spelljammer (my guess is it will be a modulesetting like Strixhaven)
2022: Dragonlance
2023: Dark Sun
2024: Forgotten Realms revised; with some cleaned-up lore regarding races and such.
