In today’s Unearthed Arcana, we explore character options from the Dragonlance setting. This playtest document presents the kender race, the Lunar Magic sorcerer subclass, the Knight of Solamnia and Mage of High Sorcery backgrounds, and a collection of new feats, all for use in Dungeons & Dragons.

Kender have a (surprisingly magical) ability to pull things out of a bag, and a supernatural taunt feature. This magical ability appears to replace the older 'kleptomania' description -- "Unknown to most mortals, a magical phenomenon surrounds a kender. Spurred by their curiosity and love for trinkets, curios, and keepsakes, a kender’s pouches or pockets will be magically filled with these objects. No one knows where these objects come from, not even the kender. This has led many kender to be mislabeled as thieves when they fish these items out of their pockets."

Lunar Magic is a sorcerer subclass which draws power from the moon(s); there are notes for using it in Eberron.

Also included are feats such as Adepts of the Black, White, and Red Robes, and Knights of the Sword, Rose, and Crown.

I've been working on a PDF to sell about minions and their leaders. Between this and the latest Arcadia, I have a better idea of power levels....

The new lore says kenders could appear in other worlds of the D&D multiverse. Maybe there is a cosmic sentient power in the Feywild and this calls kenders to explore other zones. And this cosmic can bless kenders with good luck, but also create troubles for fun.

Kenders can be very fun if they are played by professional roleplayers in an actual-play show, but not all players have got that special touch to be fun.

* I am thinking about a gully PC who was a scribe in the previous life, and reincarnated in a gully because true resurection was too expensive. And now she has to be the new leader of the tribe/clan against the attacks of the wererat goblins.

So any thief/rogue adventurer is a romani stereotype? Im not really following your line of thinking
Any race of people who are inherently thieves and who are naturally wanderers are dipping into the cultural well of Romani stereotypes. Individual thieves ≠ race of thieves, individual adventurers ≠ race genetically prone to vagabondry.

Notice that the awkward 3E/4E characterization of Halflings as whimsical Rogish nomads was walked back pretty hard in 5E...for good reason.

Yep. 40+ year old gamers do not comprise the majority of the audience, by a long shot.
No, but we have a disproportionate amount of the disposable income that buys product. Money that also goes to buy product for a lot of those in the younger groups.
