What IP would you like to see as an RPG?

A couple of those do have some unique setting elements that might need some special mechanics- kaiju, space ships, super-soldier, mecha, etc.. But slow contagion zombies that get stopped by headshots aren’t exactly exotic. Arguably, my prior sentence sums it up sufficiently.
And I would argue that many people buy/collect RPGs because of an emotional attachment to a setting or IP (including nostalgia), and not necessarily because of novel mechanics. I own a lot of RPGs that I unfortunately probably never will play. And judging from other posts I've read on ENWorld, I'm far from the only one.

Don't have the G.I. Joe RPG yet, but I might get it someday strictly on the basis of nostalgia. Don't really care much how innovative the rules are, because I wouldn't run it and don't know anyone else that would, either.

Arguably, the previous three sentences sum up my position sufficiently. And for everyone's sake, I'll not pursue this debate further.

I'd love to see a Gargoyles RPG, but the odds of that happening (since it's a Disney property) are slim to none. (Although I'd like to think it could have happened after Steve Jackson attended the Gathering of the Gargoyles con in Dallas in 1999...)

It'd also be neat to see a new Ghostbusters RPG. Or just reprint the old one...

There was actually an issue of Dragon (#286) dedicated to Shannara material for D&D 3E.
As I recall, it was pretty bad. For example, I think it had Flick as a half-elf, for some reason.

I occasionally throw a Jachyra concept (from Wishsong) at my groups: a monster that gets stronger the more damage it takes. They always hate it. (I've also done the Huntsmen of Annuvin from the Chronicles of Prydain: whenever one of the band dies, the others grow stronger.)

Funnily enough, that was built using GURPS, AIR. It was a fantasy RPG campaign before it was a book in any case.
Indeed. The extent to which GURPS was hacked to make the campaign makes it almost unrecognizable, at least so far as the examples and interviews I've seen have made out.

I'd love to see Melanie Rawn's Dragon Prince and Dragon Star trilogies adapted. The toughest part would be the magic mechanics.

I'd love to see Glen Cook's Garrett Files. Better world building and a more interesting setting than the Back Company IMO.

And for Shannara, couldn't you just use Adventure in Middle Earth? :)

I always thought The Matrix universe would make a cool RPG. Unfortunately, the last movie did very little to ignite the franchise again, and perhaps its esthetic is a bit dated. Yet the adventure setup is all there: awakened rebels hacking into the Matrix to run quests inside dynamic dung..., huh, buildings in a world populated by human and rogue AI minds alike.
