The craziest idea I've hear is: "players, just pick whatever numbers you think best represent the character you want to play and/or enable the build you're trying to pull off."

And frankly I would use that with any of my current groups. We're not munchkins. Even the powergamers would be inclined to truly dump the off-stats to make the character more fun to play.
Yeah I’ve had players just unilaterally lower a stat when they rolled nothing lower than 15.

I’ve also just looked at a set, know the character concept was a bit MAD, and said, “raise one of those 11’s to a 14, and you’re good.”

I personally have never been to a Denny's, but I've been reliably informed that it's not the type of place where you go, it's the type of place you end up at when everything else is closed.
Eh, it’s reliably decent.

Well, if you know which ones in your area to avoid, that is.

About half of the ones in my town have competent management, and thus are perfectly good “breakfast at 10pm” options.

Yeah. I'm not saying they should redo Chult. I'm merely pointing out that a setting that includes or is even centered around dinosaurs is doable. And I agree, there would need to be more than just dinosaurs. Saurials(or the equivalent) and other interesting addons.

There is a magic card in the new Baldur’s Gate set called “Earthquake Dragon” and its tagged as an Elemental Dragon. Is this something that has appeared before? Could it tie into a primordial theme?
