Generally Discouraged (In-Person Gaming)

No breweries? My experience is that craft beer has gone very local, and the breweries tend to have bars--and they tend to be very welcoming to people with other interests.
We finally got our first brewery in 2020, opening just as COVID started. To make ends meet, they swapped to a family-friendly restaurant where the point is to get in, eat, and get out for the next family. It's not a casual or fun place to go, and they're definitely not cool with you hanging out for extended periods of time playing games.

Unfortunately, I don't think any of that exists here. We don't even have a decent bar where you can get stuff that's not Bud Light. It's as if there is no place for adults in the community at all.
While I understand your apprehension to leave given your current job, I do think the community you're in just doesn't seem to be helping your social needs. If I were you, I'd move to another small town whose demographics seem more welcoming to my interests, at the very least.

I've been at my job since 1996, and I've got around 5 years until retirement - a nice government pension. ;)
Maybe after that?

Have you tried a gun raffle, rodeo clowns, or tent revival?
That's the sort of thing that would attract attention in my own uninspired little patch of America.

We got meat raffles here in the Midwest. Just roll up to your favorite neighborhood tavern and they give meat away as prizes...
