D&D 5E New Unearthed Arcana: Wonders of the Multiverse

WotC has posted a new Unearthed Arcana featuring the Glitchling race, the Fate domain, and a handful of backgrounds, feats and spells.

In today’s Unearthed Arcana, we explore D&D character options from across the multiverse. This playtest document presents the glitchling race; the Fate Domain cleric subclass; and the gate warden, giant foundling, planar philosopher, and rune carver backgrounds. Additionally, a collection of new feats provide links to giants and other primordial forces of the planes, while a selection of new spells highlight the power of fate and chance.

And actually they have done psionics - they're in Tasha's.

Not liking an implementation of a concept isn't the same as them not doing the concept. I actually do think that they feel that they've done a psionics implementation now and they don't need to worry about it.

Yes, but the felt truth is different... and isn't it more important what they feel?

Probably because they don't want to be piled on by trolls. You have read the vitriolic arguments on these forums? And this is one of the more reasonable (and well moderated) quarters of the internet.
what is the tolls argument are they anti or pro-psionic or are they just being the vanguard for Demogorgon as normal?
There are several psionic subclasses. I have a player playing one right now. There are also psionic feats.
As has happened every single edition, the psionic rules are different
you know what is desired and so do I the full caster and the sorcerer do not scratch the itch unless you only ever want to play it once.

doing the concept in a now-shut-up way is just insulting, it is like giving a man pig slop and telling him to be happy he gets to eat.

Except I don't think that's what they did. They implemented psionics in a way that they think implements the concept and if some new concept comes along that they think they need they'll add to it along the same lines.

I'm pretty sure that they like and are happy with the rules they create and want people to use them. And not that they're not just grudgingly doing things because a small group of players expect to see it in an edition and they're going to put out some rules to get them to shut up. (Because everyone in any industry that has fans knows you can never satisfy all of them and they won't ever shut up - that's just how online fandom - and really fandom in general - works.)

I actually don't know what is desired, and neither do the designers, as every bit of feedback to every attempt is "not that"
do you mean a complete image or the basic overview as the latter could be described in five minutes and I could do right now, do you want it? mechanics get difficult, but some of it is helped by the psionic subclasses taking away from the all-encompassing psion they tried to make.

look I am sure they like their work but it does not do what was desired which is to translate past editions' psionics into the simplified and workable system that is 5e, it works only if you squit a lot, plus the now-shut-up terminology was invented by @Vaalingrade it having to do with design for things the designers clearly have no enthusiasm for that they make so they can tell people to stop asking for it.
it is like the difference between doing only sufficient work so you get paid and doing a job right.

It would help if Cure spell was buffed a little and moved to healing word mechanics.

1d12 per level of healing and Bonus action with 60ft range. or maybe 2d6 per level to have better consistency.

That way cleric will always have an Action for "fun" stuff and still manage to get decent healing done.
My biggest problem is that they're not an interesting support class. You dump Bless or something of the party and they don't need you to do anything else. You just hang back and plink with your little Cantrip that doesn't do anything interesting. and you always have to hold back a spell slot or two because 'what if I need to heal someone?" so all your cool spells are not getting used. Not that there is that many cool ones.

ah the support classes dilemma

I wonder if WotC is planning about a card game within D&D. I don't mean Magic: the Gathering but PCs spellcasting with magic cards. But the rules should be simple or the fight would be too slow to be fun.

* I wonder if the "Infinite Staircase" could become the "D&D backrooms" thanks the fandom who don't play D&D but they like to create fanart creepypasta.

* One of the weak points of Planescape is the most of planes were too dangerous for low-level players.

* Sigil is one of the most important places in D&D multiverse, but we should "recover" the Gatetowns. I have said several times the faction war ended in Sigil, but this could continue in the Gatetowns. The mercanes founded other city to be a comercial center and rival to Sigil.

* There is a great potential as adventures hook in the plane of the mirrors. Do you know the 2008 horror movie "The broken" with Lena Heady?

* I think we could bet for a future Torment II videogame after Baldurs Gate 3.
I used a summoner (a class from a 3rd party book) to do a yugioh like character in 3e but I would kill to have something like that back again...
