I wouldn't have much use for it, but, like, it's not a mini. You can put your Han Solo action figure into it, or a GI Joe, or something else. Which makes it super cool, to me, even if I don't have any of those things to display in it.

You could easily put a non-mini in there as a nerd decoration. Say you're into history, you could put an antique coin inside as a way of expressing two sides of your personality at once.

Looks pretty cool. And at six inch scale, it'd be a great gargantuan ooze!

I've used gelatinous cubes plenty of times in my games. And when I ran Out of The Abyss, Glabbagool was absolutely a group favorite.

Was about to come and talk up Glabbagool, also a favorite in our group. Sadly, turns out gelatinous cubes are no match for

They are also very like RL slime molds (if a lot bigger). So as D&D monsters go they are amongst the less implausible.

Awww I was hoping technology had advanced further than I knew and we actually has a squishable Gelatinous Cube you could squish things into. Instead we have a plastic box you can attach things to the outside of. Back to waiting for technology to advance.

This issue is, whilst you could certainly make a squishable clear cube, if it was able to retain its shape, poking something into it would create a permanent hole. Eventually the holes would cause it to fall apart. In order for it would to be able to heal and still retain its shape, you would have to have an actual living organism....

The toy you are looking for, you could make with gelatine and an appropriately shaped mould. It just wouldn't last long. It would be non-toxic though.

This approach appears to be specifically aimed at collectors, as a display piece, rather than a toy for children. I suspect owlbear and displacer beast plushies will go down better with the kids.

Maybe they have Protection from Acid going on them when they dive in.

The rules don't really cover characters deliberately jumping into a gelatinous cube. A rules lawyer might argue that since it hasn't used it's engulf ability, they take no damage until the start of the cube's turn*. Which gives them up to 6 seconds to escape (e.g. by exploding the cube, which is what I bet happens next).

*NB, as a DM, I would not rule this way,
