Spelljammer A Look At The Upcoming Spelljammer Boxed Set

Preview images of the upcoming Spelljammer boxed set have been appearing on sites across the web, so I've gathered some of them together here. These also include the hobby store 'special edition' with Hydro74 art.

Not really. The Astral is basically hyperspace.

I've not seen any indication that there's any type of "epispace" between wildspace bubbles.

I read and played quite a bit of Planescape in the 90s and dont remember them but I have trouble remembering what I did yesterday let alone 25 years ago. I own the 1E Manual of the Planes but not sure Ive ever read any more than bits and pieces.

Can you travel from one wildspace bubble to another wildspace bubble without passing through the Astral Plane? If there's no material plane beyond the edge of wildspace, you're saying swiss cheese has one hole.

According to Chris Perkins, Wildspace is "the space between planets." This article explains a lot of it in Perkins own words.

Wildspace is the heliosphere. The Astral Sea is the interstellar medium. Only because magic, there's an even more distinct difference between the two. Wildspace is full of life and stuff, and the material plane rules still apply. The Astral Sea is mostly empty, and the material rules are suspended in favor of astral conditions.

I have never seen anything for 5E that suggests they are different Prime Material Planes.
