A pretty product with the right name might suit your needs. The statement is not about you, its about what WotC is doing.Well that is just rude to people with a different viewpoint and taste than you

As much as I dislike the changes to Ravenloft for 5E, I actively despise WotC's treatment of Spelljammer. I'd rather they give settings I like the Ravenloft treatment than the Spelljammer treatment. Three minuscule books that barely cover the setting in the thinnest possible detail in an over-priced slipcase. I'd much rather they put it all in one book with more room to flesh things out. A Van Richten's-style Spelljammer book that spent several pages on each of a dozen or more worlds, regions, etc would have been infinitely better than what we got. I'm just waiting for the Planescape fans to realize WotC already said Planescape is going to be a slipcase a la Spelljammer. And yeah Ravenloft is very much the best example here. If you like Planescape as it is, just hope they don't use Van Richten's as a guide.
Strange New Worlds is a recent Star Trek series that follows Captain Christopher Pike and the USS Enterprise. It's set some years before James T. Kirk takes command of the ship.Ok, what is Strange New Worlds? Is that a new series? When is it set?
It would at least have room for more elements you can use in your home game. Lawful good black robes? They are going to have Lawful Good Black Robes....so no, I'd say Warlocks and Bards will be happily on their way.
The initial UA had alignment restrictions, the revision removed them. /shrugLawful good black robes?
Seriously??
Thanks! I am familiar with the series, but I didn’t know that was the name. Is it on a streaming service?Strange New Worlds is a recent Star Trek series that follows Captain Christopher Pike and the USS Enterprise. It's set some years before James T. Kirk takes command of the ship.
Only Paramount+ in the US.Thanks! I am familiar with the series, but I didn’t know that was the name. Is it on a streaming service?
Speaking for myself, I think doing Planescape in a three-book slipcase format can work out alright as long as they don't try to cram in too much.As much as I dislike the changes to Ravenloft for 5E, I actively despise WotC's treatment of Spelljammer. Right. I think that's kind of a weird knock-on effect to all this. People are far too willing to accept WotC not doing proper settings anymore because they know the fans will fill any gaps on DM's Guild, or they can simply use the old lore. I'm all for the settings opening up on DM's Guild, all for fans writing stuff for settings and putting it up on DM's Guild, and all for using the old lore. I object to WotC intentionally doing a half-ass job of it in the first place. I'm a huge Spelljammer fan and I can't help but think the recent tiny slipcase is a bad joke. There's no there there.Particularly given that this release should also finally open Planescape up on DMs Guild.
