I watched it as a kid during the original run. I didn't watch every episode of every season. I haven't seen it since. I don't remember it being horrible, but I thought the tone was too light from what I recall. I hope that if they do reboot it they re-imagine the characters, make it more serious and mature and not just play on the nostalgia of the generation who originally watched it.

I guess Hasbro would be interested into this but we may face a conflict because now the partnership is with Paramount, and a reboot of the cartoon would need an agremeet with Disney.

Other point is now Hasbro wanted to make the things in other way, for example more girls in the group, and not only one of the main characters should be Afroamerican, but also Asian-american but not too linked with stereotypes about otakus. Somebody would want to add some "touch" but others would answer this should be easy to be edited to can avoid the censure in some countries with an older point of view.

Maybe somebody suggest the background enough flexible, and the main characters should travel to different worlds, using these episodes as "hidden pilot episode" for future titles, for example a (post-apocalypse) magitek-dieselpunk mash-up version of M.A.S.K.

And WotC don't like the isekai in D&D+Magic: the Gathering.

If a cartoon about the adventures of a new generations of DM's pupils is produced, where would it be broadcasted, in Disney+, Paramount+ or Netflix? Hasbro has got deals with the three. In Netflix it is the most likely option, but we know Netflix is not famous for the continue season renewals.

And not even Hasbro themself are too sure about what will be the future plans, because if the action-live movie worked in the hitbox, then we should guess the partnership with Paramount will continue. And let's pray to not find strange things about future mergers and acquisitions changing everthing, for example Elon Musk buying Disney or like this.

I distinctly remember being annoyed that they had weapons and never actually used them. I was clearly too young to understand what was or wasn't appropriate for Saturday Morning Cartoons.

...I also didn't understand why it was called Advanced. They never killed the monsters, so it obviously wasn't that advanced.

The cartoon was just called Dungeons and Dragons. No Advanced in the title (despite them using terms from AD&D, like the new classes: Barbarian, Acrobat, Ranger, and Cavalier)

Yeah I was 8 when the show started. I had already been introduced to and "played" D&D by then. Even at that age I wasn't a huge fan of the show, I preferred the LJN toy line.
