Who is this person and what do they have to do with the Mike Mearls situation?
Some German news reporter who got accused of sexual misconduct who immediately lost his job and reputation. Later in court it was proven that the accusation were false, but it was an uphill battle with even the judge only very reluctantly declaring him innocent.

Its basically the poster case of false accusations in Germany.

Mearls lost his position. We do not know if that had financial effects on him or not.
Might have done. We also don’t know if what effects if any Mearls’ actions may have had on Smith’s victims. That’s kind of the point: we don’t know. We’re all just individuals witnessing an interpersonal conflict. We have no obligation to behave as if it’s anything more than that.
There certainly were enough calls for him getting fired back when the accusations were made.
Yes, ans was their right. Ans I imagine WotC took them into account when they decided to move Mearls to a less public position, as was their right.
And many other people who were accused of something in the past lost their jobs without any shred of proof or trial, even when later the accusations were disproven.
The nature of private business, I’m afraid.

Very famous case in Germany. Something I have always in mind. And it was not the sole one.

Also, Mike Mearls was not the harasser. He f'ed up in some way when communicating with Smith. And he probably was not allowed to come foreward with a real excuse. So while we do believe the victim, the exact role and extend of the guilt of Mearls is unknown for us.

It’s all a bit moot anyway, no one really knows what happened and Mearls hasn’t been punished anyway, unless getting a better job in the same department is punishment I guess.

It might look better. It might not be better for him. I think he loved his old job.
But yes. It is moot. And it probably was the right decision for WotC to withdraw him from sight.

That sounds like it was a bad move on his employer’s part. But last I checked, this guy isn’t Mike Mearls, and what his employer did has no bearing on whether or not people should believe Olivia Hill’s claims that Mike Mearls passed personally identifying information about her to Zak Smith.

Seems pretty off-topic to me.

I don’t disagree with any of that.

Last I checked people should bot lose their Jobs because of unproven* allegations

*or at least unchecked...

The alternative is to alienate victims who have been harmed in ways that don’t leave direct evidence.
The third option is to not generate strong stances when you don't have the whole truth. Otherwise, all you're doing is taking a side based on personal prejudices. And the risk of doing that is that innocent people get hurt. Have a strong moral compass, yes. Be wary about applying that compass to situations you only partially understand though.
