D&D 5E Amazon US book sales rank.

looking at the section that just shows RPG products, I was surprised to see Basic Fantasy is pretty high up there.

Tons of 5E of course and then of course some Pathfinder here and there.. Cthulhu... and there's Basic Fantasy. White Box is there too. Both cheap D&D options. Though WB is a retro OD&D and Basic is 3rd ed by way of AD&D, I think.

The only PF2 rulebook I see available on Amazon is a collector's version selling for ~$400. Also, checking Miniature Market and they are sold out of PF2 rulebooks right now. Even their stock of the playtest version is getting low.

Looks like a run on the bank, boys.

I find this list very helpful.

Basic Fantasy is mostly a BECMI clone.

Basic Fantasy is probably really high up there because not only is it a good OSR system, it's dirt cheap. I think Chris Gonnerman sells it at cost as a labor of love. You can buy the rulebook for a tenth of what other games cost. (You can also get all the books for free on his website too)

Noble Knight games looks to be out of the core rulebook as well.

My local book store (BAM) had only one copy of PF2 and that copy has been there since the game released. They started with 2 so someone bought one. I haven't been back since all this started to see if the one copy was still there.
Can you verify the exact same book sat there for 2 years?

I can’t vouch for their store, but something similar happened at my store. And I did check with the owners as I talk to them frequently. I have been there since early December so maybe the last 2 (of 5) have finally moved.

This probably deserves it's own thread at this point, buuuuuuuut...

I went by one of the FLGS in my area and they were down to just 1 PF2e Bestiary book. The employee noticed where I looked and said "looking for Pathfinder?". I said yes and explained what I was seeing at other stores nearby being sold out. He said they had stocked 5 2e Core Rulebooks on release and they only sold 2 of them prior to last week. Since the initial DDB statement, they sold the other 3 books they had in stock along with everything else they had besides the remaining Bestiary book. I asked if he had any idea when they were going to get more in and he said he honestly didn't know, because the previous books sat so long they were hesitant to order more books without knowing for sure they'd sell them. He said it's possible this all blows over and the demand will go back down but for now they're gauging customer interest and looking at other things like D&D sales to figure out if they should stock more Pathfinder or not.
