Pathfinder 2E Things You Love about a Game: Pathfinder 2E edition (+)

Ye, that is what kinda ruined it for us. We don’t like chasing down every last bonus and advantage to play a game. It was too much like work for us. Everyone is different, we just have a Willy milky freestyle type of play that didn’t mesh with PF2, or at least our attempt at it.
For sure, I can see how a simpler advantage/disadvantage system works better for people who want less complexity. Nothing wrong with that! It's probably worth mentioning AD&D 2e is my ideal game, so PF2e from what I've read so far is closer to that then 5e.

This is as good a place as any to ask: is the Pathfinder Beginner Box implementation for Foundry VTT well done? I am looking to learn both Pathfinder 2E and Foundry (I am mostly a FGU user because I ran so much 5E) and while I just bought the big bundle that included the Foundry module for Abomination Vaults, that seems like it might be a little much for a first time out. Thanks.

I've run it through the free PDF Importer module several times and it worked great. I think the official release will work great too (better quality tokens and maps). But there's nothing wrong with the PDF Import version.

I bought the official version and it seems pretty nicely done. It makes some assumptions about the person running it being new to Foundry, so it explanations are included in the journal entries for how to resolve different situations that occur in the game mechanically within Foundry which is appreciated because I am new to both PF2e and Foundry. I'll be running it in a couples weeks so I'll post my thoughts after actually running it then.

Cool. Thanks. I look forward to it.

In case either you or @Velderan bought it for the purposes of playing Abomination Vaults, I draw your attention to some top-down tokens for AV should something like that interest you. I far prefer top-down tokens to "pog style" tokens, but it takes more work (and money) to amass a decent selection of them. Mixing top-down and pog on screen at the same time is never a good thing.

Here are all of the encounters in Levels 1 and 2 of the Abomination Vaults, in top-down token format, with high-res versions of the token provided in both .png and .webp format:

These tokens appear in Devin Night's Patreon from December 2022; his patreon is here. The cost to join is $5 per month.

Oddly, I find top-down tokens kind of annoying (mostly on immediate recognizability grounds).
Agreed. We use flat token images. All the bad guys get red rings all the pcs get a color as well, typically gold. It’s easy to register where the good guys and bad guys are quickly at way.

actually dracula
1) The three action economy is brilliant
2) Fights are dangerous, everyone gets hurt
3) Character creation options are fun
4) No need to do detailed 1-20 builds, all options are viable
5) Punching is good
