Put that in the guest room and none of your guests will stay more than a night or two. All for a mere $375 in the second quarter of this year.

It's every adventurer's rite of passage to encounter a Mimic in combat--now you can have one with you in the room while you play! This life-sized Mimic chest is 20" tall and made from soft foam that's painted to show off each eye and tooth, not to mention that long tongue! This replica creature is incredibly lifelike and stands mid-lunge toward its next victim

The size of the mimic is fine, and "life-sized" is accurate enough. Chests come in different sizes, this one isn't as big as the mimic in the movie trailers, but it is the size of mid-sized chests in the real world, and the fantasy world . . . . if you want a movie-sized mimic, that's gonna run you a heck of a lot more than $375.

Here's a video WotC just posted about it, and it's a hefty little mimic . . . about the size of a small dog.

My are you sure your not Air Force with that fancy air mattress.
:ROFLMAO: Okay, you got me... While I was in the Air Force they never issued air mattresses to use with cots. I meant that I use air mattresses with military style cots & sleeping bags while camping. :ROFLMAO:

Wait, 20 inches? Life sized? Nope, that’s just a flat out falsehood. I can 3d print something that size.
People are 3D printing houses, so that's no indication of size. As for falsehood, there are smaller chests, just not the size of chest most of the HeroQuest/D&D crowd thinks about... So lifesize is accurate, but they are just messing with our expectations, as I suspect that most sales will happen via internet sales. I thought the same about the pseudodragon...

Also keep in mind that this is soft foam.

How are they "messing with our expectations" if they posted a video doing actual size comparisons of the product? And clearly state the dimensions of the product on their website?

Would a giant treasure chest mimic statue be awesome?!?! YES! But those complaining that this particular mimic "isn't life-sized" . . . . I think just need something to complain about.
