I have got three books, I bought them: the Core, the Pact Worlds and the first Alien File. Devir hasn't translated more but modules.

With a right adaptation it could be a serious rival for Star Trek and Star Wars.

I'm all for eddtion updates in my games every few years to work out the bugs and (to borow from the title) enhance the game.

That said I'll use windows seven till I die.

Could be enticed by a Starfinder built on the PF2 chassis

Feels like a lot of work for the Paizo team though; and maybe not much return?

Now that PF2E is selling so well, the idea might be worth more than it would have a few months ago.

But only if the PF2E momentum holds well. I'm optomistic on that point, but we'll see.

However I suspect the genre of Starfinder is also a LOT more niche than Pathfinder.

Better than a new edition, that's for sure. Sure wish they could publish a new PF1e book that's like 400 pages because they converted many of the PF2e stuff to 1e for us loyal PF1e customers.

I f----in' hate edition cycles. If I ever got Bill Gates money, I'd buy these companies and make sure ALL editions are supported and not make anymore new ones. Just update and expand the way they are now.

"Rules for scalable equipment": My main problem with Starfinder was the weapons. I simply cannot accept a setting, where hand-weapons constantly need to get stronger. There are a couple of games, even computer games that do this (Diablo, Cyberpunk), where you constantly need to upgrade or change your weapons. Which I don't really find believable. For me the right approach is that you get better at shooting and actually hit your targets and not that you need to get new weapons that make more damage, because your targets get more hit points.

This change would probably make it more bearable for me, but still not something that I would go for.

I wish this could get a new edition. I want to play Starfinder, but with a Starfinder take on the PF2E rules. I've moved past my 3.x days.

That said I suspect I'm in the minority on that.
I hear ya on that. I am well past my expiration date on 3.x/PF1 (though admittedly I'd give SF a shot).
That said, PF2 is open content. I'm guessing (with no legal training) that someone could create a PF2 compatible space game, like what Esper Genesis was to 5e.

Just started getting back into Starfinder after some time away. While I dig the game, I wouldn't mind seeing a SF2 built on the PF2 chassis either. That said, I also wouldn't mind a few other games that use the same chassis as well come out from the goblins at Paizo. ;)

I love Starfinder so I’m looking forward to this but I also hope it doesn’t move Starfinder towards PF2. I’d like to see a simplified action economy like PF2 but the character creation of Starfinder mostly intact.
