Picard Season 3

It does make me wonder why someone keeps watching, when it's clear they have issues with the show.
I can still like a show even with issues, I don't deal in absolutes.

also, guess you don't know about Star Trek Nitpicking....whole, huge books have been printed on this, it's hugely popular. Star Trek websites are full of nitpicking too. It's fun to nitpick, for many fans.

Some fans just watch the show and then do whatever. Other fans are pausing the show to count the pixies and see if they remade the enterprise D 's bridge exactly. Oh, and read all those ship names on screen....they had the USS Sulu!

Well Disco very much tried the whole darker Trek thing. As well as later seasons of Enterprise.

Given the HUGE number of dark SF shows on the market, having a well lit, hopeful, full of actual visible spectrum lighting without every scene filmed in a bloody broom closet, would be a refreshing change.

Seriously what’s up with every at show being filmed at half light?
As much as seeing the Enterprise D again was wonderfully nostalgic, my main reaction was "oh thank goodness, finally a bridge with adequate lighting."

I (now) think that was a deliberate things to highlight the contrast with the bright and hopeful Enterprise D. Which is not a terrible idea in principle, but I think they overdid it (some more than others).

If they played it as the Borgness won out after the door was opened that would be one thing
AFAIAC, that is exactly how they did play it. He did not say as much out loud, but that would have been unnecessary and much less plausible.

Now one thing I have forgotten from Picard's last season. Didn't Jirati become their new queen? Or was that a borg splinter cell or something I can't remember.
It was a new faction of the borg. I am about 97% sure that they even said that the "real" borg are still out there, or words to that effect.

So I thought early on metaplot would be Jack is Borg. Changelings love Great Link. What if they could link at vast distance like Borg do they could be a super threat.
Anyone screaming at TV for them to take the Defiant on board Ent-D

One thing I just thought about from a few episodes ago

When Seven spots out Tuvoc based on the fact that "no Vulcan would ever go to Kholinar"..... man that was a pretty crappy spy job there by the changelings. I mean rule number 1 of spycraft is know your cover. The idea that the changeling didn't know some personal details between Seven and Tuvoc, sure. But the fact that he was masquerading as a race that has specific taboos or wide ranging beliefs....yeah you got to know that stuff.
